In recent days, we are getting increasing numbers of enquiries about JSP’s Force®10 Full Face Mask fitted with PressToCheck™ ABEK1P3 filters and whether they would protect against respiratory hazards from CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear) threats.
JSP’s respiratory solutions have been developed for occupational uses but can offer a degree of protection against CBRN hazards. Whilst JSP’s PressToCheck™ ABEK1P3 filters do not protect to the same chemical and biological (CB) capacity levels as a specific CBRN canister filter (which has more activated carbon filling), they are made from very similar carbon material. The particle (radiological and nuclear (RN)) filtering performance of the PressToCheck™ ABEK1P3 performs as well as that found on a military respirator.
PressToCheck™ ABEK1P3 filters have NOT been tested for protection against any CB warfare hazards. JSP do NOT warrant its ABEK1P3 filters to protect against any CBRN threats or to be used in such a way.
During occupational use the JSP Force®10 Full Face Mask fitted with PressToCheck™ ABEK1P3 filters should be face fit tested to ensure that the maximum level of protection can be achieved. To ensure good levels of protection it is very important that the wearer is clean shaven and that a fit check is carried out after donning to ensure a good face seal has been achieved.
