What is the safety cell in the EVO® VISTA® safety helmet?

Understanding the built-in protection system in EVO® VISTAshield® and VISTAlens® helmets.

The EVO® VISTA® range represents JSP’s next generation of high-performance safety helmets, built on the proven Evolution® head protection platform. Available in EVO® VISTAshield® and EVO® VISTAlens® models, these helmets feature integrated, retractable eye protection designed to deliver enhanced safety and usability.

A key innovation in the EVO® VISTA® design is the Safety Cell – a structural element developed to go beyond standard requirements. The Safety Cell is engineered to provide an extra layer of protection for the wearer in high-risk environments.

What does the Safety Cell do?

  • It prevents ricocheting debris from travelling between the retractable eye protection and the helmet shell, protecting the scalp from potential impact.
  • It stops the lens or shield from contacting the wearer’s head, even if the eye protection is forced back unexpectedly. This helps to reduce the risk of secondary injury from the internal components of the helmet.

The Safety Cell is a result of JSP’s continued focus on wearer safety and comfort, ensuring all integrated components work in harmony without compromising protection.

Summary of key points:

  • The EVO® VISTA® helmets include a built-in Safety Cell.
  • It helps protect the scalp from debris that could bypass the eye protection.
  • The lens or shield is prevented from making contact with the head in the event of an impact.
  • This innovation enhances wearer safety and goes beyond standard compliance.
  • Part of JSP’s ongoing development to improve integrated head and eye protection.
