Every year, millions of hard hats are discarded in the UK, often ending up in general waste streams and ultimately in landfill. JSP recommends replacing your hard hat every 5 years or immediately after an impact. Unfortunately, many of these end-of-life helmets are not properly recycled.

The National Hard Hat Recycling Scheme provides a responsible and environmentally friendly solution. This initiative ensures that all discarded safety helmets are diverted away from landfill and sent to a dedicated processing facility where they are fully recycled.

JSP is proud to be a founding member of this scheme and uses the service for recycling its own safety helmets. Supporting this scheme helps promote sustainability and reduce the environmental impact of PPE waste.
