Sustainability & Recycling Solutions - Recycling your hard hats / safety helmets

Each year the UK throws away millions of hard hats. JSP recommends that users replace their hard hats every 5 years or as soon as it receives a knock. These are traditionally thrown into general recycling waste with a high probability of ending up in landfill. 

At JSP, we're committed to sustainability and making recycling simple for everyone. To help you recycle your used hard hats, 'Above the Neck' PPE, and workwear, we've identified trusted recycling providers offering tailored solutions to meet your needs.

The National Hard Hat Recycling Scheme aims to reduce the number of helmets that go into general waste by diverting safety helmets into a dedicated waste processing facility, thereby ensuring all hard hat waste is fully recycled.

JSP fully supports this scheme and was as a founding member of the service when it was first started.

How do I join the National Hard Hat Recycling Scheme?
The scheme is now run by a company called Circularity Direct. You can join their innovative program where member companies send used hard hats directly for transformation into valuable reusable materials. For a small annual fee (dependent on your company size) you can register with them as a waste disposer and send as many used safety helmets to then as you require throughout the year.
