Full body harnesses are essential for fall protection, supporting the wearer during and after a fall to ensure safe arrest. These harnesses can also be used in restraint systems. For optimum protection, it is crucial to adjust your harness correctly to prevent injuries.
Here’s a general guide to adjusting JSP height safety harnesses:
1-Point, 2-Point, and 3-Point Harnesses
Hold the harness by the shoulder straps, allowing the leg straps to hang freely (ensure they are not tangled).
Pass your arms through the shoulder straps.
Pull the harness down so the sub-pelvic strap sits under your buttocks.
Connect the chest buckle, then the waist buckle (if fitted). Adjust the waist belt to a comfortably tight fit.
Connect the leg buckles and adjust them for a snug fit.
Adjust the attachment points:
The rear attachment point should be positioned between your shoulder blades.
The front attachment should sit in the centre of your chest.
5-Point Harnesses
Hold the harness by the waist belt, letting the leg loops hang free.
Step into the waist belt and leg loops. Adjust the waist belt to a comfortably tight fit.
Pull the back strap over your shoulders, ensuring it is not tangled.
Position the dorsal D-ring and securely buckle it to the waist belt webbing.
Buckle the leg loops, ensuring no twists.
Adjust the harness to fit tightly.
